Matthias was on-time, as he always is. He cleaned our fireplace earlier this year. He was here to inspect our fireplace as we noticed a little rust on our fireplace tray and cast iron grate. We wanted to ensure there was no issue with the brick. Upon completion of the inspection Matthias stated all looked good. Water got in due to the heavy wind and rain we recently had. He mentioned installing a new damper as a solution. He completed the installation in a timely manner. It is definitely a little different using the new one but it seems like a great product. Matthias was patient in showing us how the new damper works, which was greatly appreciated. Matthias was friendly, helpful, and professional. He did an excellent job and his work and assistance is always wonderful. It is always a positive experience dealing with Matthias. Many thanks to him and all of 2nd Generation Chimney employees. We've been customers for over 20 years now and there is a reason for that. They are great to deal with, easy to contact and timely in scheduling appointments. We highly recommend this incredible company. And a special thank you to Lisa for refunding the Inspection Fee! We appreciate it!

The technician (Troy) was very prompt. He was really nice about explaining everything. The cleaning took almost three hours for my small condo and he was always doing something. I'm not complaining about how much time it took rather happy he took the time to get every nook and cranny! He was also very considerate of my cats, making sure we had them in whatever room he was not currently working on while making sure they didn't scoot out the open door. (I really appreciated this.) He did offer the extra services which are less $$ if you get them done at the same time but... he didn't try to schmooze me which I appreciate as schmoozing or trying to "sell" me only irritates me. He offered the services after he was done cleaning rather than right up front (as a previous duct-cleaning service had tried to do before they even looked at the ducts). Before leaving, he also sincerely asked me to let him know if I thought there was anything he could have done differently or better. I couldn't think of anything. When I get this done again in a few years, I will be seeking this company out again. I also love that it's a family owned business. ~~ The price was significantly higher than what you find on groupons, etc. However, when really looking into getting this done, it sounds like those $49 services may not really get the job done. In the fine print of the last groupon I saw (for a different company), there were $100 upcharges for each of the "extras" (the whip thingy, the brush, etc) so I imagine the end cost would be comparable if you really want it done right. Troy showed up on time, answered all my questions. Work was performed in 3 hours. He also found a problem with my furnace filter that i had no idea was there. I would highly recommend Alpha Air.
